1852GARD.

(1)     Rev Richard Ellis left a little close, now forming the gardens of the Rectory House and the rents are expended in apprenticing children.

(2)     William Kent left a rent charge of 25s yearly to the poor.

(3)     The poors plot (12 acres) lets for £16 per annum.

(4)     William Baker of Rowsham, by will of 1770, left £100, interest to be given to the poor except for 2s 6d to parish clerk for keeping his tomb in the churchyard clean.

(5)     The parish clerk receives 15s from Rector annually in right of some land left in 1760 by Rev Thomas Long, Rector of Finmere.

1877POST. Charities of £19 yearly.

1887KELL. Charities of £19 yearly; there are also annual sums of £3 4s 4d for education and £4 8s for apprenticing.

1891KELL. £18 9s 4d yearly. Also £2 19s for education and £4 0s 8d for apprenticing.

The 1891 total was repeated in the directories until 1931.

1931KELL. £29 16s 4d yearly and £3 13s 4d for apprentices.
